Danish Horse Life Guards 1710

Danish Life Guards 1710

The production of units for the battle of Helsingborg 1710 continues. It is still mainly Danes in production. This time we ha a cavalry unit. This was an elite unit and rather few in numbers and with a good repetition. At Helsingborg they were more or less wiped out. The unit were cuirasses that much is clear. However the colour of the uniform worn in battle is a bit more of open question. The uniform displayen on these minis might be the one worn in a parade. There are sources that indicate they wore a buff coat in battle.  I do think I prefer this more colorful option.

The minis here are from Front Rank, at least  the riders. The horses are from Elite Miniatures(an old job lot that that found it's use).

The same unit from another view.

Well, what's next? I have to paint a number of single based American rifle men from the American Revolution. I wish to complete them as soon as possible. However I seldon manage to stat focused so there is also some Swedish units from 1710 in the works.

  1. Lovely work and the red coat is much nicer than a Buff one:)

    1. I knew about the Buff coat when I started, but I found out the diffrence when I was already well into the painting process. When all is done I do think that red is better than buff.
